Hybrid Movement Company emerged from an experimental dialogue in motion between performing artists across a wide range of disciplines and cultures. This cross-disciplinary and intercultural exchange gave rise to a unique movement style that blends diverse artistic traditions. Through collaborative creation, Hybrid Movement fosters the sharing of skills, techniques, and perspectives, allowing artists to explore and recontextualize their abilities, identities, and relationships to space.
The Hybrid Movement methodology embraces the richness of diverse cultural influences, and manifests safe spaces for important dialogues, experimentation and discovery. This cultural exchange is integral to the creative process, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive body of choreographic works.
The ensemble was officially founded in 2015 by Françoise Voranger. Their inaugural season took place at Lincoln Center, in collaboration with The Little Orchestra Society and Antigravity, setting the course for a journey that has since taken them to some of the world’s most prestigious stages.
